If you have ever wondered how to get involved in the diversity, 公平与包容 efforts of the University, 这是你的答案. Employee Resource Groups are a group of volunteer faculty and or staff members who would like to identify and implement methods to contribute to the 4 Pillars of Excellence for Diversity, 股本, 和包容 - 劳动力, 文化, 学生, 和社区.
Each group will identify their own objectives and partner with the 多样性中心 和包容 (CDI) to ensure alignment to the 4 Pillars of Success and will receive ongoing support from the CDI and an Executive Sponsor.

What is the purpose of Employee Resource Groups?
The purpose of an Employee Resource Group is to provide an organized catalyst for people who are interested in learning more about diversity, 公平与包容, and or those who have a desire to contribute to the efforts of the University to create a more diverse and inclusive place to learn and work where everyone has a sense of belonging.
How does an ERG get started?
If you are interested in starting an Employee Resource Group, please first reach out to the center for Diversity 和包容 to get an overview of what’s required and have any questions you have answered. Also, you will need to complete the application.
Can anyone join an Employee Resource Group?
是的, regardless of your race or ethnicity or affinity, anyone can join any ERG. This creates a culture of learning, 合作伙伴关系, and collaboration across cultures and different demographics.
Can student workers join an Employee Resource Group?
Unfortunately, employee resource groups are designed for faculty and staff only. 有很多 student organizations and groups 学生可以加入.
How often do ERG’s meet?
It is highly recommended that they meet at least once a month, and committees can meet as needed.
ERG有预算吗?
The 多样性中心 和包容 has a budget allocated for all the ERGs. Funds needed for ERG events and activities must be requested. After the CDI has reviewed the request and determines if the request meets the criteria for funding and how much can be distributed, the ERG leadership member making the request will be notified.
What are the criteria for funding an ERG event or activity?
Request for funding must align to the ERGs objectives or business plan and contribute to one of the 4 DEI Pillars of Excellence: 劳动力, 文化, 学生, 社区.
How do ERG’s work with the 多样性中心 和包容?
The CDO and Director of the 多样性中心 和包容 oversees all of the ERGs and helps them stay on track and aligned to the 4 Pillars. There should be regular communications and check-ins with the CDO and the Executive Sponsor who helps to support the ERG as well.
Are ERG’s sanctioned by the University?
是的, and all ERG’s should uphold the mission and values of the University, and align with DEI 4 Pillars of Excellence overseen by the CDI.
Will participating in an ERG count towards my required development hours?
是的, you can manually add development hours in Workday describing how the time you spent is connected to your development.
